Holy Week Procession

This year, we held our first ever Holy Week procession through the streets of Ellesmere Port. It was a great success.

Inspired by the large Semana Santa processions that take place in Spain over the Easter period, all of the children in Years 2-6 took to the streets of Ellesmere Port to parade from Whitby Park to Our Lady’s Church via The Port Arcades.

The children made the floats and banners that they carried on the route and our marching band were put through their paces at their weekly band practices.

Preparation So Far

On 26th February, we held our introductory assembly. Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 signed up for the important jobs of band members and Nazareños (float carriers).
