Mini Vinnies
Mini Vinnies is a branch of the St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) society, focused on primary school involvement. Our vibrant Mini Vinnies club engages in various community initiatives and events. Established in 2011, this group plays an essential role in fostering a spirit of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility among our students. Through their active participation, Mini Vinnies members contribute positively to our school's ethos and extend a helping hand to those in need within our community.
Although not rigid, the Mini Vinnies usually focus their attention to the Corporal Works of Mercy across the academic year:
In addition to this, Mini Vinnies play a vital role in supporting the Catholic Life of the School through various meaningful activities that promote faith, compassion, and service:
organising the advent,
lent and rosary prayer bags,
fundraising drives responding to current affairs
load shoe-box presents for Operation Christmas Child
preparing assemblies on looking after the environment
Litter picking in and around our school
Assisting with welcoming newcomers
Here are some of our Mini Vinnies on one of their weekly visits to Whitby House.
