School Lunches

Our hot lunches are prepared on site by the talented team from Edsential. All of the food provided is locally sourced and adheres to the government's healthy eating guidelines. Edsential provides fresh, nutritionally balanced food along with a varied choice of great salads, fresh bread and delicious fruit every day.

Every day, children have a choice of three two-course meal options, one of which is a sandwich. A vegetarian choice is always available. Drinks of water, fruit juice or milk come with every meal.

Healthy Lunchboxes and Healthy Snacks

We teach the children about how to stay healthy. A big part of this is having a healthy, balanced diet. To this end, we encourage children to bring a healthy snack every day. We teach children that sweets and sugary foods are acceptable in moderation but they should try to eat healthily every day. Half the sugar children are having comes from snacks and sugary drinks.

Too much sugar can lead to harmful fat building up inside and serious health problems, including painful tooth decay.

Too much salt (in crisps, cakes and biscuits) can put children at risk of heart disease and high blood pressure later in life.

We ask all parents not to send their children with chocolate, sweets, crisps, cakes or biscuits as part of their lunchbox or as their snack.

The Change 4 Life website has some great tips on healthy lunchboxes. Click on the image below to find out more:

Children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are given a piece of fruit each day as part of our free fruit scheme. However, you can also send your child in with a healthy snack, e.g. rice cakes.
